US Census Bureau: Demographic, housing, and other data by topic, year, and geography. Includes data tables from the American Community Survey.

State

Bureau of Geographic Information (MassGIS): A large repository of digital geospatial data for mapmaking, an interactive mapping tool, and other resources.
Department of Economic Research: Various labor market data, including the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), searchable by town, county, year, and industry.
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education: Provides school and district profiles, with data related to enrollment, achievement, and other topics.
Department of Transportation (MassDOT): Interactive maps; an Open Data Portal with datasets related to roadways, crashes, and other topics; a vehicle census by town; and other resources.
Division of Local Services: Includes the Municipal Databank, with reports on local revenue and expenditures, property taxes, and other municipal finance trends. Also parcel counts by town and type.
Executive Office of Health and Human Services: Public health data, including births and deaths, hospitalizations, drinking water quality, and more.
Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities: Maintains the official Subsidized Housing Inventory for each town in Massachusetts.
Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) Production Tracking System: Tracks the amount of renewable energy installed by county and municipality. Sourced from the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) program.
Massachusetts Data Hub: Data and reports published by state agencies, searchable by topic.
Massachusetts Historical Commission: Maintains the Massachusetts Cultural Resource Information System (MACRIS), a searchable database of reports on historic buildings in the state.
Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program: Maintains a list of species that are endangered, threatened, or of special concern, including a Rare Species Viewer interactive map, priority habitat maps, and other resources.
Office of Travel and Tourism: Annual reports with information about tourism-related expenditures, employment, payroll, and tax receipts.

Bureau of Economic Analysis: Economic data by topic and place, including some data by county.
Bureau of Ocean Energy Management: Provides a Northeast Ocean Data website, including an interactive Data Explorer map with GIS layers related to ocean uses, marine life, and habitat.
Census Bureau: Demographic, housing, and other data by topic, year, and geography. Includes data tables from the American Community Survey.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: A wide range of public health data and other resources, accessible via CDC WONDER, the CDC PLACES Data Portal, and other online tools.
Environmental Protection Agency: Website includes air and beach water quality data for Dukes County.
Federal Aviation Administration: The FAA Air Traffic Activity Systems shows airport operations (flights) by time period and location.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: Long-term data related to weather, climate, fisheries, and other topics by location. Includes data tools such as Climate Data Online and NOAA OneStop.

Other

Cape Light Compact: The energy service provider for Vineyard and Cape towns.
Community Preservation Coalition: Works with communities to adopt and implement the Community Preservation Act (CPA), and advocates on behalf of the CPA at the state level. Provides a CPA Projects Database searchable by town, date, and funding category.
County Health Rankings and Roadmaps: A collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Heath Institute that measures vital health factors in counties across the US.
LINK Martha’s Vineyard: A subscription-based multiple-listing service for real estate on the Island, including sales data and other information.
Mass Estuaries Project: A partnership among UMass Dartmouth, the MA Department of Environmental Protection, and southeast Massachusetts communities, which has provided detailed evaluations, including daily nutrient tolerance levels, for coastal ponds throughout the region.
Mass Housing Partnership: A nonprofit that works with the state Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities to increase affordable housing. Maintains a Center for Housing Data, including various data tools and analysis.
Steamship Authority Monthly Business Reports: Detail monthly SSA operations, including ridership, revenues, and expenses.
Vineyard Transit Authority Annual Reports: Cover ridership, revenues, expenses, and other information.

Martha's Vineyard Statistical Profile (2023)

A large collection of data sets from local, state, and federal sources, including the 2020 Census. Generally covers all seven towns in Dukes County over the the previous 10 years.

Seasonal Population Estimate (2025)

The MVC’s 2024 seasonal population estimate indicates a likely peak of about 94,650 people in August, or 4.6 times the year-round population of 20,530.

Town Data Reports (2024)

To help shed light on recent economic and municipal finance trends on the Island, the MVC developed a series of town data reports based on local, state, and federal sources. The reports draw largely from the 2023 MV Statistical Profile, with updated and additional data, including a local business directory for each town. As with the Statistical Profile, these reports are meant to be used by town officials, businesses, non-profits, and members of the public for general planning purposes.

Martha's Vineyard Older-Adult Service Analysis (2025)

This 2025 report by the MVC in partnership with Healthy Aging Martha's Vineyard takes a deep dive into the current older-adult service landscape on the Vineyard, with a goal of identifying potential gaps, challenges, and opportunities. The report expands on the MVC's 2019 Elder-Service Mapping Project.
