The MVC prepared the first Water Quality 208 Management Plan for Martha's Vineyard in 1977. In the early 2000s it began collecting a large amount of water quality information from our coastal ponds, funded in part by a grant from the MA Department of Environmental Protection. For detailed information regarding these studies, please see the following surveys. (More recent data is available in the MVC’s State of the Pond reports.)
