Economic Development
Economic development encompasses many regional issues that affect the Island. Housing, transportation, infrastructure, and climate change, for example, all play a role in our ability to attract and sustain businesses and tourists and maintain a cultural continuity. The MVC is mandated by its enabling legislation to promote the "enhancement of sound local economies,” which it carries out through its planning and regulatory activities.
