Dutch architect and urbanist Matthijs Bouw is the founder of One Architecture, an award-winning Amersterdam and New York-based design and planning firm. Bouw will discuss his experiences and lessons learned from working on projects in the U.S. and abroad, including the legacy of Dutch water management practices, New York City's current, highly ambitious coastal resiliency infrastructure portfolio, Climate Ready Boston, and emerging practices for resilience implementation.
Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss how these projects and lessons might apply to the local context of Oak Bluffs and to the Island community at large - to consider the range of strategies to adapt the Town and its infrastructure to the impacts of climate change, including extreme storms and rising seas.
